Detailed simulation for the ClearMind prototype detection module and event reconstruction using artificial intelligence

The ClearMind project aims to develop the TOF-PET position sensitive detection module optimized for time resolution, spatial and efficiency. For this, uses a large (59 × 59 mm2) monolithic PbWO4 (PWO) scintillating crystal with bialkali photo-electric layer deposited directly on crystal. Scintillation Cherenkov photons result together from 511 keV gamma-ray interaction into PWO A micro-channel plate photomultiplier tube (MCP-PMT) encapsulating amplifies photoelectrons generated at photocathode, corresponding anode signals are collected through transmission lines read out both ends digitized by SAMPIC module. In this work, we present realistic Geant4 simulation of prototype detector, including propagation visible in crystal, modeling response photocathode PMT, electrical over lines. reconstruction gamma conversion detector volume is performed registered We compare precision statistical algorithm against machine learning algorithms developed using TMVA package. expect reach resolution down few mm3 (FWHM).
